B&B Lavallette ladies' location...aka the source of a solid third of my summer wardrobe.
B&B, beloved local department store chain, will quite literally roll out its wares this Wednesday for one of three summer sidewalk sales at its men’s and women’s Lavallette locations on Grand Central Avenue starting at 9 a.m.
Sidewalk sales usually require some digging so bring your patience, but it usually pays off. I’ve walked out of the B with tons of great finds. I can’t speak for the men’s department, but the junior’s section is rife with fun skirts and tops for going out, nice sundresses and great beach coverups at prices that don’t make your wallet wince. It’s like a Forever 21 by the sea, if you will. (Word of advice – last summer at the Ship Bottom store’s sidewalk sale, you had to purchase the clothes you wanted to try on with cash and could return whatever didn’t fit for a full refund.)
If you can’t make it this week, sidewalk sales return on July 28 and Aug. 11.

2005 marked the beginning of the new Asbury era. Since then, many new shops, restaurants and bars line the walkway. Langosta Lounge, McLoone’s, and the new Aqua Restaurant and Bar (which I’ve been told is rumored to have fist pumping gurus at night) are among some of the more trendy destinations on the boardwalk. I’m not much of a shopper. In fact, I actually hate it unless I’m in dire need of something. I know, gasp, what girl doesn’t like to shop?! Today I reluctantly tagged along to the Freehold Raceway Mall with my mom and sister. As I dragged my feet behind them I stumbled upon these treasures. Behold the Jersey Shore shrine hanging in the junior department of Macy’s. Read the rest of this entry »

Say that headline ten times fast! We stopped by Right Coast Surf Shop in Seaside Park over the weekend to chat with owner, proprietor and all-round-good-dude Mike Lumbo to see what he’s predicting to be the hot shit summer gear.
In the sunglasses department, there may be an late 80’s, early 90’s revival at hand. The classic Ray Ban Wayfarers are back in (did they ever really go out?). The latest comeback for this stalwart… inspired by the recent Guitar Hero Risky Business commercials, perhaps?
